Designing a business you’re stoked about starts here—welcome to The Monday Muse, your weekly guide to business, branding, and creative strategy. 🤸🏼♀️
Oh hey hi from Lisbon, Portugal.
I’m writing this email from a hidden cafe in a theatre with “the best view of Lisbon” (and it sure is a good view), a glass of Portuguese wine, my daily pastel de nata, and a bacon sandwich all pictured below.

The past few days have been exciting. I left my surf town, headed to Lisbon for the weekend, and by the time you read this, I’ll be in Morocco (AH!).
While I was in line for a palace on my “castle tour”, I met another American traveling through Europe. It lead to us touring Lisbon together for the following two days – concluding with a really powerful conversation surrounding entrepreneurship, owning a business, and more.
He recently graduated college and is intrigued by, ya know, never having to do the 9-5 thing. The conversation started in the afternoon when we began talking about what it takes to make a living working for yourself, the skillsets he had, and how that translated over to offers he could create, the audience he could target, and what he could charge to not only make a living, but a good one.
The conversation got powerful at the hostel around 11 pm when he turned to me and asked, “how do you find clients?”.
And that’s when we dove into the ego, societal norms, and again, how simple it CAN be to do your own thing when you let go of fear and take even the smallest step to putting yourself out there. I spent a good deal yapping about American norms and egos that lead us to believe that making money and living a life you love is complicated.
You see, here’s my soapbox, the ego wants to be and feel smart, so it complicates business, because the more complicated your business is, the smarter you think you are.
But that’s often why new businesses fail and people burn out.
Not only that, but our cliche CEOs don’t want their employees thinking that making big bucks is easy. Because then they leave and create competition, leaving the business without a workforce.
I told him that in order to find clients, you have to let go of some fear, and start having conversations about what you do and WHY you do it (something that still takes me some guts every day 🙄).
You have to start sharing your mission.
Once you simplify the numbers to believe and know it’s possible, then start talking to people…you find the clients.
He reiterated to me several times that night, and even this morning before he left for Spain, how impactful our conversations were and how infectious my energy around the topic was. I’ve had a lot of conversations like these and they always lead to people doing big things.
Quitting jobs.
Believing in their business.
Taking action to create income that’s life changing.
I have a feeling that in a few months I’m going to get a text that says, “hey I’m working for myself now”.
I love conversations like these because this is what I live for – people doing big things. So I’m trying something new simply because I love it. I made a link where you can book a free 30 minute strategy call.
If you want to have a powerful, infectious conversation that leads to big things, book one. If you want to take a step that helps you remove some fear and have a conversation, book one.
No strings attached.
No brainer.
The best way to get where you wanna go? Start orbiting with the people that are where you want to be and can help you get there.
I get fired up about this stuff and I can’t wait to hear what you’re up to and hold a really dang powerful conversation with you.
Stoked to see ya on Monday,
Bri
