Designing a business you’re stoked about starts here—welcome to The Monday Muse, your weekly guide to business, branding, and creative strategy. 🤸🏼♀️
The Instagram ads have been getting me lately…
Last week, I downloaded the app Ahead. Think Duolingo, but for emotional intelligence (EQ). And the very first thing it hit me with was:
“People with high IQs often get outperformed by those with higher EQs.”
The stats are wild:
- 58% of job performance? Emotional intelligence.
- Average annual salary boost for high-EQ folks? A cool $29,000.
- 90% of top performers share one thing: high EQ.
EQ isn’t just a personal skill. It’s what creates connection, success, and growth. And your brand? It needs EQ just as much as you.
Just like you, your brand has feelings.
It has a personality, an energy, and a way of showing up in the world.
Brands with high EQ don’t just exist—they resonate.
They know who they are, they stand unapologetically in their identity, and they connect effortlessly with the right people.
Most brands, though? They’re stuck in “perfectionist people-pleaser” mode, trying to look good, sound clever, and appeal to everyone. And in trying to be everything to everyone, they end up being…forgettable. (Oof, a harsh truth you probably didn’t know you needed, sorry 😅)
A high-EQ brand is different:
- Knows itself deeply. It’s clear, confident, and unapologetic about who it is and what it stands for.
- Connects effortlessly. It understands its audience so well that people feel seen just by interacting with it.
- Stops performing. Instead of shouting into the void, it starts meaningful, two-way relationships with the people it’s meant to serve.
When your brand’s EQ is high, success isn’t something you fight for. It’s something you invite.
There isn’t a duplicate of you. And there shouldn’t be a duplicate of your brand either.
The most resonant brands are the ones that are unapologetically original. They reflect your quirks, your values, your voice, making them impossible to ignore for the right people.
Uncovering that originality isn’t something you do alone.
Your personal EQ doesn’t grow without support. Whether that’s from a therapist, coach, or life experience.
Your brand’s EQ is no different. It grows when someone helps you see what you can’t on your own.
Think of it as a “therapy session” for your brand:
- You discover what you’re too close to recognize.
- You articulate the emotional core of your business.
- You create something that connects deeply—not just with you, but with the people you’re here to serve.
Most of the time, my clients come to me feeling disconnected from their brand. They know their business has so much potential, but their brand doesn’t reflect it.
When we build up your brand’s EQ, you stop second-guessing yourself.
You feel proud to share your website, your social media, your offers.
You show up with confidence, because your brand finally feels like you.
And the best part? The right people notice.
Imagine a brand that doesn’t just talk, it starts conversations.
A brand that doesn’t just show up, it belongs.
A brand that doesn’t follow trends, it sets them.
Just like high-EQ individuals are magnets for success, high-EQ brands attract their ideal clients effortlessly generating success.
When your brand reflects who you are at your core, success stops feeling forced. It feels natural.
Your people aren’t looking for just another option. They’re looking for you.
Your brand doesn’t need to try harder.
It doesn’t need to be louder.
It just needs to reflect you.
Because when your brand is aligned with your original self, standing out isn’t just possible…it’s inevitable.
Stoked to see ya next Monday,
Bri
